BEATING THE BOUNDS: AN ANCIENT WALK AROUND ST PAUL’S PARISH BOUNDARIES, MEET AT CHICHESTER CATHEDRAL WEST DOOR, PO19 1PX.

Join the Town Crier, St Paul’s clergy, choir and congregation in the ancient custom of beating the parish boundaries (approx one hour). This starts in the Cathedral at the site of the font of St Peter the Great, which moved to its new church in 1852 and on to St Paul’s in 1982. All welcome. We conclude with refreshments provided at St Paul’s Church.  Free admission.

A WALK AROUND HISTORIC SOMERSTOWN, MEET AT ST PAUL’S CHURCH, CHURCHSIDE, CHICHESTER, PO19 6FT.

Join local historian and author Alan Green on this walk (approx one hour) around Somerstown, the late Georgian development of largely artisan housing which St Paul’s was originally built to serve. This two-hour workshop introduces our most common bumblebee species in a community orchard of 20 fruit trees, an excellent wildlife habitat. This two and a half hour beginner’s bumblebee identification workshop starts indoors with an overview of different bumblebee species ecology, habitat and basic identification techniques before heading outdoors to practise identifying bumblebees among the wildflowers.
