DESCRIPTION:The Society’s annual exhibition of original and contemporary art offers a wonderful opportunity to acquire unique artwork at an affordable price. There will be a wide range of works including paintings\, prints\, sculpture and ceramics. \nThe Chichester Art Society is looking forward to another wonderful exhibition of members’ work. The society was founded in 1939 and is at the heart of our community in Chichester and the surrounding area. Then\, as now\, we welcome artists as members and visitors. Please come along and see our work and hear more about our programme of events throughout the year. We offer fortnightly demonstrations and talks by visiting professional artists\, one-day workshops with professional art tutors\, a weekly drop-in session\, painting with Friends\, summer sketching/plein-air painting outings and visits to galleries. DESCRIPTION:Con Coughlin\, foreign correspondent for the Telegraph\, returns to Talks At Six to give us an update on the Middle East Global security situation\, including insights on rapidly evolving hot spots Syria\, Iran\, Palestine and Lebanon. \nCon’s work as a foreign correspondent kicked off in earnest\, covering the 1983 American invasion of Grenada\, but soon moved to the Middle East. Having set up the Daily Telegraph’s bureau in Jerusalem\, he narrowly escaped kidnap in Beirut in 1986\, the basis for his first of many published books which also include biographical volumes on Saddam Hussein\, Tony Blair\, Ayatollah Khomeini and the Assad Dynasty. \n

DESCRIPTION:Accompany Chichester Tree Wardens on a walk through Litten Gardens to enjoy and learn about its trees. Meet at Friends Meeting House\, Priory Road and return there for refreshments and conversation. \nApprox 1 hour walk\, plus social. Sponsored by Chichester Quakers. \nLitten Gardens is just outside the City Walls\, a short walk from our sponsors for this event\, Chichester Quakers at the Friends Meeting House. We will look at the trees chosen to contribute to the setting of the War Memorial\, how they’re growing and the impact they have (for people and wildlife alike). \nFriends Meeting House: Open from 6pm. Afterwards\, if you wish\, we’ll return to FMH for conversation\, hot/soft drinks and nibbles. We anticipate returning to FMH circa 7.15pm. \n
