Meet at Friends Meeting House\, Priory Road and return there for refreshments and conversation. \nApprox 1 hour walk\, plus social. Sponsored by Chichester Quakers. \nLitten Gardens is just outside the City Walls\, a short walk from our sponsors for this event\, Chichester Quakers at the Friends Meeting House. We will look at the trees chosen to contribute to the setting of the War Memorial\, how they’re growing and the impact they have (for people and wildlife alike). \nFriends Meeting House: Open from 6pm. Afterwards\, if you wish\, we’ll return to FMH for conversation\, hot/soft drinks and nibbles. We anticipate returning to FMH circa 7.15pm. \n

CEO & founder of Afghanistan Education Action (AEA)\, Angela will talk about the work and the hope it gives to excluded people of the country. \nAEA open doors to learning for children and young people who need it most. From village classrooms to skills training and digital learning\, programmes give students the tools to shape brighter futures. \nAEA focuses on girls\, displaced families and vulnerable communities\, ensuring education reaches those too often left behind. Every lesson builds confidence\, opportunity\, and hope\, transforming lives and strengthening communities. \nAEA says that with every student it supports\, it is proving that education doesn’t just change minds: it changes futures.

SUMMARY:Event SW19: We are still here: A Palestinian community holds onto its land
DESCRIPTION:Paula Orr\, of the Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel (EAPPI)\, will give a talk about her work. Paula spent three months in Palestine and was involved in monitoring and reporting human rights abuses. Paula will focus on one community’s life under Israeli occupation. \nThe Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel (EAPPI) is an international programme coordinated by the World Council of Churches. It brings people from around the world to the West Bank to serve for three months as human rights monitors. They are called Ecumenical Accompaniers (EAs). \nEAPPI was founded in response to a call from the Heads of Churches in Jerusalem. Since 2002 over 1\,500 international volunteers from 22 countries have served as EAs. In the UK and Ireland it is coordinated by British Quakers on behalf of 16 churches and NGOs partners.
