A celebration of brilliant women writers from Sussex and beyond. An all-day event with a chance to meet the authors for book signing. Jess Brown-Fuller starts the day followed by Kate Mosse, Tessa Boase, crime writers Elly Griffiths & Lesley Thomas then Daisy Dunn in conversation with Kate Mosse.
Venue: The Assembly Rooms, North Street. Doors open 9.30.
10 am: Welcome by Jess Brown-Fuller
10-11 am: From Carcassonne to Chichester – No 1 International best selling author and Cicestrian Kate Mosse CBE talks about the inspiration behind her multi-million selling fiction and non-fiction including Labyrinth and
The Taxidermist’s Daughter.
11.30-12.30 pm: Who’s Who in the West Sussex Record Office Collections. Discovering the amazing women writers in their collections.
Lunch break
2-3 pm: Fashion Fury and Feathers. Tessa Boase author of Mrs Pankhurst’s Purple Feathers, will share insights into how fashion affected endangered birds and the founding of the RSPB.
3.30-4.30 pm: Making Crime Pay. Sussex-based best-selling crime writers Elly Griffiths and Lesley Thomson share their working practices and how to make crime pay!
5-6 pm: The Missing Thread. Novelist and non-fiction author Daisy Dunn in conversation with Kate Mosse, discussing her fascinating new history of the Ancient World.
Waterstones will be running a bookshop and all authors will be available for signing.
6.30 pm: Close.
