Between 1880 and 1914 there was a remarkable outpouring of prose and poetry that took Sussex, and especially the South Downs, as a point of inspiration.
This talk by Chris Hare will look at the work of Richard Jefferies, W.H.Hudson, Rudyard Kipling, Sheila Kaye-Smith, and many other writers who lived in or visited Sussex.
