Event SW21: A Tree Odyssey with Jon Stokes

July 14th at 19:30 - 21:00

Jon Stokes set out to describe and celebrate all of Britain and Ireland’s native trees and shrubs, but first he had to find them! The Tree Council’s Director of Trees, Science and Research takes us on his journey with this illustrated talk. Hosted by Chichester Tree Wardens.

Jon is one of Britain’s leading tree conservationists and has been studying the world of trees for over thirty years. He’s also an entertaining speaker with a photographer’s eye, able to bring to life his constant curiosity and love for trees.

Chichester Tree Wardens volunteer as part of the national Tree Warden scheme, founded in 1990 by The Tree Council. We aim to harness our own love for trees to inspire interest, understanding, and care for trees in our city and surrounds.

We hope you will join us for Jon’s talk (about an hour, with questions and answers), refreshments, conversation, and, conditions permitting, the chance to get outdoors and look at nearby trees.

Refreshments included. Copies of Jon’s latest book, the WILDGUIDES Trees of Britain and Ireland, will be available to buy at a discounted price. (Read Jon’s author interview).
