Event SW23: WEATHERING WITH AUTHOR ISABEL ASHDOWN

“Ashdown tiptoes carefully through explosive family secrets” – Observer.

After a sold-out appearance last year, bestselling Chichester author Isabel Ashdown returns to her hometown to launch her latest suspense novel Weathering.

Isabel Ashdown’s writing career took off with her debut novel Glasshopper, which was twice named among the Best Books of the Year after winning first prize in a national writing competition judged by Fay Weldon and Sir John Mortimer. Since then, her thrillers Little Sister and Beautiful Liars have been shortlisted in the Dead Good Reader Awards, while 33 Women was an Amazon bestseller within weeks of release.

Isabel has worked with the Royal Literary Fund for over a decade, as university fellow, consultant and mentor. Alongside her own writing, she coaches developing writers and is host of the free Facebook group ‘Get Writing with Isabel Ashdown’.

Born in London, Isabel grew up on the south coast, and as a mature student studied English and Creative Writing at the University of Chichester. She lives with her carpenter husband, with whom she has two grown-up children and a pair of ageing dogs, and her happy place is anywhere with a coastal view. Weathering is Isabel’s tenth novel (Orion, 17 June 2024).

Tickets £11, or £3 without book. Ticket price reserves an early copy of the book and a drink on the night.
